Hello
“Surround yourself with people who challenge you, teach you, and push you to be better.”
Last week, we brought Cohort 7 of the BWHR Mentorship Programme together at the BBC in a room filled with ambition, honesty, and the kind of energy that reminds you why community matters.
BWHR events are spaces where HR professionals come together not just to connect, but to grow intentionally, safely, and collectively. In these rooms, relationships are formed across sectors, perspectives are stretched, and capability is built in ways that simply don’t happen within the boundaries of our day jobs.
That’s our difference.
In many workplaces, mentorship is limited by hierarchy, proximity, and organisational culture. But within BWHR, we remove those constraints. We match across industries, experiences, and across ways of thinking, because that’s where real growth happens.
For us, mentorship has never been a buzzword.
Across our community, mentorship is not a trend; it’s a way of passing knowledge, access, and confidence forward, especially in spaces where we have historically had to navigate without a roadmap.
And in a profession like HR where the landscape is constantly shifting, having someone who has walked the path before you is not just helpful, it’s transformative. I have seen this firsthand, how the right mentor doesn’t just close knowledge gaps, they help you challenge the narratives you’ve been told about your worth, your voice, and your place in the room. And sometimes, that shift begins with just one honest conversation.
So today, I want to celebrate every single person who has been part of the BWHR mentorship journey, those who have shown up, leaned in, and continue to give back to this community in meaningful ways.
Because this is how we build the future of HR.
If you are looking for more than just networking and seeking a community where your lived experience is valued, your growth is intentional, and your connections extend beyond your organisation — then BWHR is for you!
