BREAK THE SILENCE ON WORKPLACE BULLYING

ANTI-BULLYING WEEK 2026

An Exclusive Webinar with Bernadette Thompson OBE

Bullying can infiltrate every level of an organisation, affecting individuals, damaging relationships and undermining workplace culture. Its consequences can be profound and long-lasting.

For those experiencing bullying, the impact can extend far beyond the workplace, affecting mental health, confidence, career progression and personal wellbeing.

For organisations, bullying can lead to reduced productivity, low morale, increased absence, damaged reputations and a culture of fear and mistrust.

Equally, the impact on individuals accused of bullying must not be overlooked, particularly where allegations are unfounded. The consequences for their professional reputation, wellbeing and careers can be equally significant.

Understanding what constitutes bullying, what does not, and how organisations should respond is therefore essential.

Last year, Bernadette Thompson OBE wrote a book exploring workplace bullying, drawing attention to an issue that continues to affect individuals and organisations across all sectors. This year, she launched her book, Silent Echoes: Breaking the Silence on Workplace Bullying.

Coincidentally, the theme for Anti-Bullying Week 2026 is Breaking the Silence, providing a timely opportunity to bring the important messages from her book to a wider audience.

To mark Anti-Bullying Week, Bernadette will host a special 75-minute webinar, inviting participants to explore the complexities of workplace bullying and the importance of creating environments where people are treated with dignity and respect.

What will the webinar cover?

  • Understanding workplace bullying: What bullying is, what it is not, and why the distinction matters.
  • Recognising different forms of bullying: Exploring overt, subtle and less visible behaviours.
  • Understanding the human impact: The consequences for those experiencing bullying, those accused and those who have been falsely accused.
  • The organisational impact: How bullying affects culture, trust, performance, staff retention and wellbeing.
  • The importance of education and awareness: Equipping individuals, managers and leaders with the knowledge to recognise and respond appropriately to bullying.
  • Breaking the silence: Encouraging open conversations, fair processes, accountability and respectful workplace cultures.

This webinar is designed for employees, managers, senior leaders, HR professionals and anyone committed to building healthier and more inclusive workplaces.

Through discussion, reflection and practical insights, participants will be encouraged to challenge assumptions, deepen their understanding and consider what meaningful action looks like.
