Tricky Employment Law issues in times of Covid
The webinar will be facilitated by Pia Sanchez and Pooja Dasgupta from CM Murray LLP, this webinar will be exploring some of the ‘Tricky employment law issues in times of Covid’ that arise from remote working.
Employers have been quick to adapt in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic enabling large numbers of workers to work remotely. For some, home-working has brought a greater work-life balance, whilst others have had to adapt to working in suboptimal and stressful conditions. With remote working set to stay in the short to medium term until restrictions are lifted, it is important for employers to be aware of their obligations to provide a safe place of work and to ensure best practice is followed when addressing any issues that arise.
In this interactive webinar, we will explore some of the common challenges that arise from managing employees remotely and our top tips to tackle tricky issues. The topics we will cover will include:
– Employers’ obligations to ensure safe home-working;
– Common issues that arise from managing formal procedures (disciplinaries, grievances, performance, absence, redundancy); and
– How to support employees, spot and address tricky issues such as ill health, domestic violence, caring responsibilities, lack of space and privacy to work, bullying and harassment;
There will also be an opportunity for Q&A during the session and we would welcome any questions from participants in advance.
About the Speakers
Pia Sanchez is a Senior Consultant at CM Murray LLP, with an international employment law practice advising clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious International Employment Law, frequently with a cross-border element.
Pia is also a very experienced legal trainer to multi-national employers and their workforce on employment law issues, explaining complex legal concepts in a practical and pragmatic way and offering actionable solutions. She supports in-house legal and HR teams to design and develop training programs for LLP members, board members and employees on topics such as discrimination and harassment, absence management, family rights, whistleblowing, performance management and redundancies.
Pooja Dasgupta is an Associate at CM Murray LLP, specialising in partnership and employment law. She advises employer and individual clients in both contentious and non-contentious matters, often with an international dimension, and has particular experience in acting for multinational employers and law firms.
Pooja has been involved in cases covering all aspects of employment law, commonly focusing on matters relating to discrimination and harassment, whistleblowing, restrictive covenants and redundancies. Pooja also participates in training clients on all areas of employment law and writes articles for a variety of publications, commenting on topical employment law issues and their wider impact.
