Tackling Microaggression and Inclusive Leadership

About the Masterclass

Research shows that if an individual experiences micro-aggressions and or micro-racism, it can have a detrimental impact on health, well-being and performance at work.  Those who experience subtle racism try to self-regulate their emotions and actions to deal with the harmful effects, such as stress.

Ongoing stress may elicit feelings of hopelessness and resignation in people. In this session we look at everyday examples of micro-aggressions in the workplace and ways to tackle. We will we will also look at what it means to be an inclusive leader and role model/champion and explore participants’ inclusion impact.

About the Speaker

Louisa is the Founder of BAME to Boardroom and her  passion is working with Black, Asian and minority ethnic individuals who as we know, are less likely to be recruited and progress in the UK workplace compared with their white counterparts and so she also works with organisations on developing inclusive leadership. She aims to level the playing field to ensure that once organisations have focus on achieving equity it is sustained by an inclusive culture.

Louisa enjoyed a career in a large corporate organisation for 17 years, starting in operations management and subsequently pursuing a rewarding career in a variety of roles including operations, planning, diversity and inclusion, industrial relations, people transition and talent management. Louisa has developed a career coaching programme for professionals aspiring to move up in their careers called “Be Visible, Be Confident”.

Louisa also works with organisations on developing inclusive leadership and specifically developed a “Race at Work Programme”.  BAME to Boardroom offers a staged programme of learning and development, taking place online, over 6 – 12 months. She has International Authority for Professional Coach and Mentoring (IAPC&M) accreditation. Louisa is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) and CIPD Mentor.

Also member of the British Psychological Society. She is an accredited assessor of Personality and Ability and a certificated Neuro Linguistic Programming Practitioner.
